Quarantainenet gives network managers more control over access to the network. Authorised users are automatically placed in the correct network segment so that they can always access their own network sources. Unauthorised users will be excluded from the network. Guests can be placed in a segregated guest segment, following registration if desired.

Our detection component can identify virus infections on the network. An infected workstation or server causes disruption and forms a risk for the remainder of the network. It is therefore crucial that the infection be detected and the problem resolved as early as possible, so that the economic and other damage remains limited. Since detection is based on the method used to spread the virus, previously unknown viruses are frequently detected.

Individual workstations or users who cause disruption can be isolated on the network. Users who have been isolated in this way are automatically informed of the reasons for this action via a personalised web page. Any websites which may be necessary for the resolution of the problem will remain accessible.

What are the effects of implementation?

  • Switchports always in the correct VLAN

    Connecting VLANs to users or workstations rather than to switchports means that authorised users can always access their own resources, while unauthorised users are excluded from the network.

  • New functionality without upgrading your existing switches

    By using other methods, beside 802.1x, to manage switches, it usually is not neccesary to replace your current switches (e.g. HP Procurve 4000/8000) with newer models.

  • Allow simple and safe guest access to your network

    Having guests register themselves online allows them access to the network without time-consuming procedures.

  • Seamless integration with Qdetect

    When combining Qmanage with Qdetect, infected machines on the network can be placed automatically in quarantine immediately following detection. This prevents the infection of more machines, minimising the number of infected machines in the customer's own network and also the number of external complaints. End users can get instant access to information on their problem, making it clear why the network connection is no longer operational.
